Javier Hernandez Ramirez Obituary, Pinon Hills, Death: Three Beloved Killed In Tragic Crash
The communities of Pacoima, Covina, and Pinon Hills are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Javier Hernandez Ramirez, Marisela Orozco, and 18-year-old Alfredo Orozco following a devastating multi-fatal crash on State Route 18 in San Bernardino County. The tragic collision, which occurred on the evening of May 9, has left loved ones grieving and several survivors fighting to recover from serious injuries.
According to authorities, the family was traveling eastbound in a silver Honda Odyssey near Minero Road in Pinon Hills at approximately 7:50 p.m. Javier Hernandez Ramirez and his wife, Marisela Orozco, were accompanied by their nephew, Alfredo Orozco of Covina, when tragedy struck on the two-lane highway.
Investigators say a black Jeep Wrangler traveling in the opposite direction reportedly crossed into oncoming traffic, causing a violent head-on collision with the family’s minivan. The impact left the Honda Odyssey severely damaged as emergency crews rushed to the scene.
Despite rapid response efforts from first responders, Javier Hernandez Ramirez, Marisela Orozco, and Alfredo Orozco tragically died from injuries sustained in the crash. The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office later confirmed the identities of the victims, devastating family members, friends, and community residents mourning the sudden loss of three beloved lives.
Three additional passengers inside the minivan survived but suffered serious injuries. Due to the severity of the crash, emergency personnel requested air medical transport, with two victims airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center for urgent treatment. Another survivor was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital as medical teams worked to stabilize the injured.
The driver of the Jeep Wrangler sustained minor injuries and was transported to St. Mary Medical Center for evaluation. Authorities stated the driver is expected to physically recover.
The California Highway Patrol’s Victorville office continues investigating the circumstances surrounding the deadly State Route 18 crash. Preliminary findings indicate that drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been contributing factors in the collision. Investigators are focusing on how the Jeep crossed into opposing traffic before the fatal impact occurred.
The tragedy has deeply affected relatives and neighbors, many of whom describe Javier and Marisela as devoted family members who cared deeply for those around them. Alfredo Orozco, just 18 years old, is being remembered as a young man with his future ahead of him before the crash cut his life short.
In the wake of the devastating accident, community members have rallied around the surviving family. A GoFundMe campaign organized by Paola Hernandez has been created to assist with funeral expenses, medical costs, and ongoing support for the injured survivors as they face a long recovery process.
As loved ones continue grieving this unimaginable loss, the memories of Javier Hernandez Ramirez, Marisela Orozco, and Alfredo Orozco remain deeply cherished by all who knew and loved them.
