Alongside her husband, Mike Knefley Sr., Joyce helped purchase and build Ski Sawmill, contributing not only to its growth as a business but also to the strong sense of community that surrounded it. Though much of her work happened behind the scenes, her influence was felt throughout the organization in the care she showed employees, visitors, friends, and family members alike.
Those who knew Joyce remember her as a woman of deep compassion, faith, and sincerity. She was known for encouraging others during difficult moments and for always making time to support the people around her. Whether spending time with her children and grandchildren or connecting with members of the Ski Sawmill family, Joyce carried herself with warmth and generosity that left a lasting impression on countless lives.

Joyce is survived by her family, including her son Mike Knefley II, who continues the family’s leadership and legacy at Ski Sawmill. Friends and community members are invited to celebrate her life at Coudersport Alliance Church on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. and a community dinner at 5:00 p.m.
In honor of Joyce’s memory, memorial contributions may be made to Stronghold Ministry, an organization dedicated to providing spiritual support for cancer patients and their families.
